Knowing Menaka for as long as I have, having shot their gorgeous engagement images (round 1!), and months of talking and texting back and forth about their wedding days (yes, days) in August…. I knew we were going to be in for nothing short of more amazing, gorgeous, love and art. Day 1 found me in St Louis, Missouri for their Indian ceremony. It was a quaint, stunning, ceremony at the 9th Street Abbey in downtown St Louis, where of course Menaka didn’t miss a detail. (I know this to be truth even if her guestlist would be a party of one — that’s just how this girl works!)
I always love photographing marriage ceremonies outside of American customs, sheerly for their uniqueness and beauty. As you can see by the abundance of ceremony images, this one was no different. This was my second Hindu ceremony, and I think they’re absolutely gorgeous and captivating to observe. This is the “short” wedding wedding, so Day 2 – the American ceremony – will be here shortly. That post? It’s a doozy. Gorgeous.. but picture-overload!
In the meantime: enjoy the art!
